How to Earn Money From Your AI Characters on MegaNova Studio
Building an AI character takes time. If that character gets used — by other people, through your referral links, or through the marketplace — MegaNova Studio has a structured system for turning that usage into income.
This is not a vague "earn with AI" pitch. The Creator Center is a specific system with documented commission rates, a referral program with exact reward amounts, tiered bonuses, and a monthly payout process. Here is how it works.
The Creator Center
The Creator Center is the hub for all monetization activity. It lives as a dedicated section in MegaNova Studio with seven tabs:
- Overview — your earnings summary and current tier status
- Links — your referral links and short URL generator
- Earnings — transaction history tied to commissions and referral rewards
- Sales — breakdown of subscriptions and credit pack purchases attributed to you
- Tiers — the tier structure and your progress through it
- Leaderboard — creator rankings by earnings
- Achievements — milestone badges tied to referral and sales performance
Everything flows through this interface. If a user subscribes after clicking your link, the commission appears in Earnings. If someone you referred buys a credit pack, that shows up in Sales.
How Referrals Work
Your Referral Link
Every creator gets a short referral URL in the format:
https://studio.meganova.ai/r/your-code
The link captures attribution via UTM parameters — ref, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content — so the system tracks not just that someone came from your link, but from which platform they came.
The Creator Center generates platform-specific links for: Reddit, YouTube, Discord, Twitter, and a generic option for anywhere else. This matters for analytics — you can see which channels are actually driving sign-ups.
Attribution Window
If someone clicks your referral link and signs up within 30 days, any purchases they make are attributed to you. The 30-day window starts from the click, not the registration.
Email verification is required before attribution counts. An unverified account that purchases does not trigger a commission.
Self-referral is blocked. You cannot refer yourself.
Instant and Bonus Rewards
When someone signs up using your referral link, you receive:
- 200 credits instantly — credited to your account at the moment of registration
- 300 credits as a bonus — credited after the referred user completes activity verification (confirming they are genuinely using the platform)
The person you referred also receives 500 credits applied to their new account.
The instant 200 credits are yours regardless of whether the referred user stays active. The 300 bonus credits are tied to their verified activity.
Commission Structure
Referral credits are one-time rewards. The ongoing income comes from commissions on purchases made by users you referred.

These are base rates. Your tier level adds a bonus on top of the base — up to +50% at the highest tier. A 20% base commission at the top tier becomes a 30% effective rate. A 10% recurring commission becomes 15%.
Platform Fees
The platform takes a fee before calculating your commission:
- Subscription purchases: 20% platform fee applied first
- Credit pack purchases: 15% platform fee applied first
Your commission percentage applies to the net amount after the platform fee. The Creator Center's Earnings tab shows the exact amounts per transaction.
Attribution Persists for 30 Days
After the initial referral, purchases within the 30-day attribution window all generate commissions. A user who signs up via your link and then buys a subscription three weeks later still triggers your first-subscription commission rate.
After the attribution window, recurring subscription renewals continue generating the 10% recurring rate as long as the subscription stays active.
Tier System
The tier structure determines the bonus multiplier applied to your base commission rates. Higher tiers unlock a larger percentage bonus on top of every commission.
The tier progression is tracked in the Tiers tab of the Creator Center. Moving up requires consistent referral volume and sales performance. The Leaderboard shows where you stand relative to other creators.
Achievements in the Creator Center unlock at referral milestones — first referral, first sale, volume thresholds — and serve as markers of tier progression.
Getting Paid
Minimum Threshold
Payouts require a minimum balance of $25. Earnings below that amount accumulate until you cross the threshold.
Payment Schedule
Payouts process automatically on the 1st of each month. If your balance exceeds $25 on the 1st, it pays out. No manual request needed.
Tax Reporting
For US-based creators who earn more than $600 per year, MegaNova issues a 1099-NEC for tax reporting purposes. Set up your tax information in the Creator Center before your earnings reach that threshold — it is required for payout processing once you qualify.
What Actually Drives Earnings
The referral program rewards bringing new users to the platform. The commission structure rewards bringing users who pay.
In practice, that means:
Platform-specific links matter. The Creator Center generates separate links for Reddit, YouTube, Discord, and Twitter so you can track which platforms convert. A Discord community that sends 50 clicks might generate more paying users than a Twitter thread that sends 500, depending on the audience. The data lets you focus where it works.
Subscription commissions compound. A first-subscription commission is 20% of that user's plan value. But if they stay subscribed, you earn 10% every month they renew. Ten subscribers each on a $29 Creator plan generate $29 in recurring commissions per month — indefinitely, as long as they stay subscribed and within your attribution period.
Credit packs are one-time but consistent. Creators who use MegaNova heavily buy credits frequently. A 15% commission on a $240 Ultra plan credit purchase is $36 per transaction. Credit pack buyers tend to be active users, which means repeat purchases.
The tier bonus multiplies everything. Getting to a higher tier does not require renegotiating rates — it applies a blanket multiplier across all commission types. Reaching a tier that adds 30% to your base rates effectively raises your first-subscription commission from 20% to 26%, your recurring commission from 10% to 13%, and your credit pack commission from 15% to 19.5%.
Setting Up
- Open Creator Center from the main navigation in MegaNova Studio
- Go to the Links tab
- Copy your referral URL or generate platform-specific links for the channels you use
- Share the links wherever your audience is — YouTube descriptions, Discord server info, Reddit posts, Twitter bio
- Track sign-ups and commissions in the Earnings and Sales tabs
- Add your tax information before earnings reach $600 if you are a US creator
